We cannot confirm whether someone is in custody or released, release a person, accept or post bond, retrieve an official booking file, or change an agency record. Choose the Correct Polk Office
Polk County contains county, state, and immigration detention systems, so the right contact depends on who held the person. For Polk County Jail custody or a local booking and release file, contact the Sheriff’s Office. The jail is at 1733 North Washington Avenue, Livingston, TX 77351, and the jail information line is 936-327-6822.
The Polk County Sheriff Records Division handles open-record requests Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dawn Liby and Victoria Findley are listed records custodians at 936-327-6810. Written requests may be emailed to PIARequest@Polktx.gov or submitted through the county Public Records Center. The public-record drop box is at 101 West Mill Street in Livingston and is available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except holidays and court-designated closure days. Mail may be addressed to Pam Knighton, Public Records Officer, 101 West Mill Street, Suite 247, Livingston, TX 77351.
For a focused jail request, provide the full name, date of birth if known, booking or SO number, and approximate admission and release dates. Ask for existing documents such as the booking and release sheet, exact timestamps, How Released, Release Reason, authorizing document, public transfer receipt, charges, docket information, and booking photograph. Texas agencies respond to records requests under Government Code chapter 552.
TDCJ holds state-prison records, including Polunsky Unit release certificates and discharge records.
