Terms Entered in Search
When you type a name, location, or another term into a search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Polk County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may process the query under its separate privacy terms.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or contact-form message, we retain the information needed to read and answer it. We do not share a message outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law. Do not send sensitive custody documents when an official Polk County, TDCJ, federal, or ICE channel is the proper recipient.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine technical details may be recorded when a page loads. These records help operate the site and understand broad usage patterns. They may include:
- The internet protocol address used for the visit.
- The browser name and version.
- The device category and operating system.
- The pages opened and the time spent on them.
- The referring website, when one is supplied.

Links may lead to the Polk County Sheriff, TDCJ, parole and probation resources, BOP, ICE, VINELink, court portals, release records, or third-party search tools. Texas public-record access is governed in part by Government Code chapter 552, but each government office and outside provider controls its own website. Its privacy policy applies once you follow the link.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across more than one website and select interest-based ads. That tracking takes place through the partner’s technology, not a Polk County Released Inmates database.

We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be processed or disclosed to:
- Search partners that receive and handle submitted queries.
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic and use.
- Advertising networks that deliver or assess ads.
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.

We use standard, reasonable practices intended to protect information in our control. No website, network, storage system, or internet transmission is fully secure. We therefore cannot promise that a breach, loss, misuse, or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted personal data, contact us so the information can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
